Painting
I've decided that I want to do some painting again. I haven't used a brush in anger for far too long and I've been thinking of a methodology I could use to generate some composition with which I can then allocate some colour and texture. It's all very rough but here are some sketches I did this afternoon and a page of colour swatches culled from my stash of magazine pages collected over the years. I think this is going to be fun.

I can't wait to see the end result. I've been thinking about doing some drawing and painting myself.
Jeeeezus. Are you always this methodical?
I just got all sorts of pictures today (meant to help me) because I finally got some time to start painting again and this time around I'm going to practice using a whole lot more paint instead of my previous untutored technique that looks a lot like water color. Anyway. So, the brother sent a few snapshots of his work so I could see the amount of paint and how single strokes can look.
If I didn't have my rather tenacious personality, it would've been a bit depressing. Even his play around stuff is so delicious looking.
So, when you mention texture, is that what you mean? (Can you believe I'm going to try & learn something about painting through a BLOG? Ha!)
Churlita, I wouldn't hold your breath. I think the actual painting is going to have to wait until I've finished Wolf Man and that's not until next year.
Booda Baby, I'm not always this methodical, no, but I find abstract art very hard compositionally so I tend to come up with little schemes to get me started and then run from there. I need something to begin with otherwise I always just draw the same shapes again and again.
